Mission: To provide a world-class training environment for elite level wrestlers to prepare to represent their country on the World and Olympic stage. In turn, this environment will enhance the development of our collegiate, high school, and youth athletes.

Grant Announcement

The Buffalo Valley Regional Training Center is excited to announce that we are a receipient of a grant from the Sunbury Area Community Foundation, affiliated with the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation with funding awarded through the Sunbury Area Health Fund.

By providing access to free youth wrestling practices coached by an elite and professional coaching staff, the BVRTC has created opportunity for wrestlers of all ages, skill levels, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The additional funding provided by the Sunbury Area Community Foundation will allow the BVRTC to expand its Youth Club to include satellite practice facilities in surrounding communities, where many youth struggle to find safe and reliable transportation to practice locations.

The BVRTC’s youth wrestling program uses athletics to address some of the most critical challenges facing young people in our communities today. By participating in the youth wrestling club, these student-athletes create an increased sense of personal responsibility, social belonging, and ultimately develop into better citizens.

The Sunbury Area Community Foundation (SACF) was created from the sale of the Sunbury Community Hospital in 2005 as the Sunbury Area Health Foundation to continue to provide for charitable healthcare needs in the Sunbury region. Today the expanded mission of the SACF is helping to meet a multitude of charitable needs for residents of the Sunbury area.

Austin Miller: BVRTC Resident Athlete

The Buffalo Valley Regional Training Center is excited to announce the addition of Austin Miller as a resident athlete for the 2017-2018 season. Miller has spent the past year as a student-assistant for the Lock Haven University Wrestling Team. A 2012 NCAA Qualifier, Miller wrestled for both Bucknell University and Oklahoma State University during his time in the collegiate ranks. On the Freestyle circuit, he has twice earned All-American honors at University Freestyle Nationals. A 2011 Graduate of Hempfield High School, he placed 2nd and 3rd at the PIAA State Tournament.

Miller, along with current resident athletes Dan Neff, and Kevin LeValley, will train and compete to represent the United States in World Championships and Olympic Games. The trio’s first competition could be the Dave Schultz Memorial International in Colorado Springs this November.

In addition to his role as a resident athlete, Miller will work with BVRTC Club coach Denny Harer to train the area’s youth wrestlers.

I am thrilled to welcome Austin Miller to the Buffalo Valley Regional Training Center and back to the Bucknell Wrestling Family. I firmly believe that Austin has put himself in the right training environment to make an immediate splash both domestically and internationally. His passion for the sport and unique style are sure to provide an immediate impact on our program.

LeValley Wins Schultz!

In his first competition of 2017, BVRTC Resident athlete Kevin LeValley brought a 74kg Gold medal back to Lewisburg from the Dave Schultz Memorial International! This qualifies LeValley for the 2017 World Team Trials, which will be held in Lincoln, NE this June.

BVRTC resident athlete Dan Neff also competed in the event, and continues to gain valuable experience while developing his freestyle skill set.

Both LeValley and Neff will compete in the U.S. Open this April, with Neff looking to punch his own ticket the the 2017 World Team Trials.

BVRTC Announces Partnership with Lewisburg Elementary Wrestling

The Buffalo Valley Regional Training Center is excited to announce a new partnership with Lewisburg Elementary Wrestling. Beginning this November, BVRTC resident athletes Dan Neff and Kevin LeValley will volunteer their time as coaches for the elementary program throughout the season.

According to LeValley, a former 2X All-American at Bucknell, and USA Wrestling National Team Member, “This partnership allows the Buffalo Valley Regional Training Center to give back to the local community and positively influence dozens of local elementary wrestlers. I am beyond excited to give back to the sport that has given so much to me and my family.”

Dan Neff, the newest addition to the Bucknell coaching staff will make his debut on the international scene this November at the NYAC International in New York City.  According to Neff, “I am beyond excited to impact the lives of young wrestlers in our community. My youth wrestling coaches helped to mold me into the man I am today. Now it’s time for me to play my part in developing the next generation.”

Dan Neff: BVRTC Resident Athlete / BU Wrestling Volunteer Assistant

dan_neff_wrestlerThe Buffalo Valley Regional Training Center is excited to announce the addition of Dan Neff as a resident athlete for the 2016-2017 season. A 2015 NCAA All-American at 149 pounds and four-time NCAA Qualifier at Lock Haven University, Neff was a 2016 Eastern Wrestling League champion, and compiled an impressive career record of 109-46, which places him 11th on the Lock Haven career wins record board. Prior to his time at Lock Haven, Neff was a 2011 Pennsylvania State Champion for Solanco High School.
