Coaching

Coach Nasdeo has coached at BVRTC for the last 3 seasons.
He is currently (2014-active) the Head Coach and a teacher at Williamsport Area
High School where he has 41 career wins. In 2020, Coach Nasdeo led his team to the PIAA AAA
Team Duals State Championships for the first time in school history! With
Coach Nasdeo at the helm, Williamsport had its 1st PIAA state place finisher in 25 years as well as 7
State Qualifiers, 2 Northwest Regional Champs, and 10 District Champions.

Brian was named 2019 Sun-Gazette Coach of the Year and Voted the 2020 District 4 AAA
Coach of the Year. Brian also serves as the PJW Area X Chairman.

• Conference 4 th place finisher

Personal: Married to Keri Nasdeo, 3 children, Cael, Collin and Marianna. Cale and Collin are
members at BVRTC. Cael is a former PJW State Champion, 2x Runner up, 2020
PIAA AAA District 4/9 Champion,  and 2020 PIAA Regional 4 th Place.

 

We have added an events page to highlight our 2 fantastic events for this year! We will feature our 1st Annual Golf Outing on May 9th and will continue to hold the BVRTC Duals at Bucknell University on July 10th! The events page is HERE.

We are extremely excited to announce the addition of our newest resident-athlete, Ben Provisor! He is a two-time Olympian and vying to punch his ticket to Tokyo for the three-peat this year. Ben will spend the bulk of his time training, but will also help coach the club and will become a valuable asset to the team once we get into freestyle/greco season. While Ben is very calm and collected in nature, he brings a large presence in the wrestling room. We could not be more excited to watch “Provi” and John VanBrill compete this year. They both will have a large impact on the growth and development of the club!

BVRTC Family,

The temperature is dropping which only means one thing…wrestling season is upon us! We have been working diligently to improve the club for all who are a part of it. Our vision is to make the club a place for wrestlers in our area to come and train with the best. We all know that competition between teams in PA is intense and the animosity may run deep. But, we want to help our local kids be the best they can be. We are here to beat the good guys. We can do it together.

So, here are the changes. Some have already begun.

• Increased number of coaches. We will have Bucknell wrestlers at every practice and will be using Bucknell Coaches, local coaches, and a few new (familiar) faces.
• Split practices by age. We will be splitting out practices for K-8^th grade, 9^th-12^th, and will be adding a practice specifically for women. The rationale is that we want to narrow down the size and skill set of our kids to maximize their experience during practice.
• Satellite locations. We will be spreading our coverage to locations in the area with more regularity. I’ll send out dates shortly to look for options.
• Techniques. We will update and follow a curriculum that covers all of the basic, high-level areas. By breaking out the sessions, we’ll be able to add or remove details depending on where the group is.
• Women’s practices. Women’s wrestling at the collegiate level is growing. It is exploding in PA, too. We want to provide opportunity for ladies that want to get better. There is a ton of steam behind this movement and a lot of people willing to help.
• Last but not least – charging for practice will start November 17th. First, no other club that we have seen is free. Our new cost structure will be well below what other clubs are charging. We will offer support to those who are unable to afford it. New revenue will help us pay for things like facility use fees, insurance, gear, clothing, coaches, etc. We will put out the best product at the best price.

• $50 per month
• Season Options
• Season 1 (November – May) $300
• Season 2 (June – October) $240
• $500 Yearly
• We will seek out grants and donations to pay for those who are not able. If you are concerned about affordability, please email buffalovalleyrtc@gmail.com. There will be regular opportunities for you to fundraise for membership fees.
• Family rate – 50% off for the 2^nd wrestler on yearly memberships. No charge for the third, fourth, etc.
• We will be using the app called TeamSnap! We need your email to invite you to create a profile and join the club. We will use it to send messages, track who is going to practice, roster teams, and allow you to pay online in an additional way. You will start seeing a table with workers to collect information soon.

We appreciate your patience as we work through all of these changes. Our Board has discussed all of our changes at length. This will be better for the club, the community, and the wrestlers in our area.

 All are invited to our annual NCAA Wrestling Championship Social to be held on Friday, March 22nd from 11:00 pm-1:00 am at the OMNI WILLIAM PENN HOTEL, located at 530 William Penn Place, Pittsburgh, PA.  This will be a great time to gather with friends and family, and learn more about the exciting things going on with both Bucknell Wrestling and Buffalo Valley RTC.  The Omni William Penn Hotel is located 0.4 miles away and is within a 10-minute walk from PPG Paints Arena where the NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Championship will be taking place. The social will be held in the Allegheny Room on the 17^th floor of the hotel.

 Tickets for the social are being pre-sold only and can be reserved by contacting Kevin LeValley by phone at 719-771-0160 or by email at kll011@bucknell.edu.  The cost is $30.00 per person and will include light appetizers and a cash bar.
